College Hospital's Adult Psychiatric Services program is specifically designed for individuals over 18 years of age who require acute inpatient stabilization of their psychiatric disorder and critical impairments Adult services programming has demonstrated effectiveness with the following: Major affective disorder with manic or suicidal thoughts and behaviors Dual Diagnosis - concurrent substance and psychiatric occurrences Mood disorders including depression and bipolar episodes Thought disturbances including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders Behavioral disturbances that impair social functioning Program Components: Our behavioral health units offer three separate levels of adult programming allowing patients to enter treatment at appropriate treatment intensity and facilitate transition to higher functioning modalities Each level is based on a crisis intervention model to stabilize the patient
