The model for the house is based upon the unique modality practiced at less restrictive sober living houses, but still offers the necessary accountability that is a strong part of the foundation of a healthy recovery. Connect House also encourages the importance of working with others and provides resources for residents to learn about opportunities for involvement in the recovery community and larger community as a whole. This, along with individually created Personal Lifestyle Plans, inspires the residents to look with hope towards their futures and encourages action and accountability along the way. Connect House was created in 2013 by a team of people with a common vision: to provide a place of residence for women who are committed to pursuing a sober and healthy lifestyle. Along with a providing a safe environment, Connect House also aims to provide a network of support and encouragement among its residents, volunteer mentors, and with the larger Madison area recovery community as a whole.
