JCAHO-accredited Optimum Performance Institute is a well-known, highly therapeutic, residential, educational program for young adults ages 17-28 who are willing to commit to finding a sense of balance in their life and their place as responsible members of society For most of our Young Adults, leaving home and/or making the transition to college and/or the work world is a daunting and overwhelming challenge We say, "WE TREAT THE WHOLE PERSON, NOT JUST THE DIAGNOSIS" meaning that from the moment they join our OPI family they have with their own therapist/case manager and begin to engage in individual and group therapy and work with our Departments of Education, Career Development, Extra Curricular Activities and Volunteer Services to come up with their individualized treatment plan Our young adults want to be part of an urban environment At OPI they live in beautiful, fully staffed, 3-bedroom apartments in complexes with swimming pools and workout rooms Men and women live separately There is a maximum of two Participants per bedroom Because we are 45 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, we can take full advantage of the multitude of colleges, universities, trade schools and special programs located here
