Reality Recovery Return to Fresh Start

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHYAlcoholism and drug dependency are treatable diseases, not a matter of will power nor a moral problem, which require total abstinence Dependency to alcohol and drugs impacts every aspect of a person's life The person with the problem is often unable to see the connection between the dependency and the problemReality Recovery adheres to the concept of "addictive disease," which addresses addiction as a chronic, progressive, fatal illness with medical symptoms that include tolerance, dependence and pathological organ changes Behavioral symptoms include compulsion, loss of control and continued use despite adverse consequences Accordingly, our program considers addictive disease to be primarily a "biochemical/genetic disorder that is activated by the use of the drug"PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONReality Recovery's Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CDIOP) is designed for treating the chemically addicted client The program is flexible to allow clients to fulfill their responsibilities of home, work and school, while learning to cope with stressors without self-medicating with alcohol and other drugsReality Recovery's CDIOP uses the 12-step model of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, in conjunction with Reality Therapy, as the foundation of recovery The program consists of the following:? Intake Assessment? Individualized Treatment Plan? Group Therapy? Family Education? Psycho-Educational Presentations? Aftercare GroupTREATMENT OBJECTIVESThe primary objectives of Reality Recovery's CDIOP are the following:To increase client's insight on all concepts related to chemical dependency and recovery, to include disease concept, powerlessness, denial, first step, program tools, cross-addiction, feelings, defenses, relapse triggers and recovery roadblocks To assist clients in their acceptance of an alcohol and/or drug addiction and increase their awareness of the negative effects of the addiction on their families, personal relationships, careers and within themselves To provide clients, and their families, with an exposure to Twelve Step Programs to facilitate long-term recovery To facilitate client's development of a personal recovery program To facilitate client's use of group process to practice the adaptive coping skills critical to recovery, to include self-disclosure and giving/receiving support and feedback12-STEP PROGRAMSThe Reality Recovery CDIOP is not a stand alone program In other words, it is not intended to be the only tool of recovery you use to stay sober While you are in treatment, you will be expected to attend a minimum of two Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings per week You are also, highly encouraged, to obtain a sponsor before you are discharged
