At Alternatives, we believe that clients should play an active role in their treatment and that includes having a voice in setting their treatment goals. We believe that the assumption that anyone with a substance use problem requires the “addict” label and is expected to remain abstinent for life is unrealistic and damaging to the millions of people who struggle with alcohol and drug use. We believe that a single system of treatment, no matter how effective, will never be able to address every individual. We believe there is a better way.
