Ryan is a little boy that has trouble controlling his anger. He uses his imagination to help himself develop a plan to successfully manage his anger in difficult situations. Anger can be an overwhelming emotion, especially for a child. This social story focuses on tools to help children manage their anger. The author has two sons with ADHD, one of which has Aspergers and the other with PDD-NOS. This story has helped them understand that even when their anger feels overwhelming, there are things they can do to control it. The illustrations in this story where created based the ideas of the author’s sons. The angry monster has spikes to help portray how anger feels to them and how that their actions can reduce the impact of anger in their lives.
